The 11th annual race commenced with 600 riders at the starting line.  The two wave start helped alleviate the bottleneck on Tinton trail, however we may implement a three wave start for 2012.  The course was in prime condition and the weather was nearly perfect.  Brian and Kim Eppen, of Iowa City, IA smoked the field to take home the overall first place Men’s and Women’s finishes.  Sram/Quarq threw down some top notch prizes, which included power meters for the overall winners and a variety of other great product for the top finishers in each field.

The cash also ran deep this year and the prize table was overflowing.  Pearl Izumi loaded the table to nearly overflowing with product, and Salsa gave away a complete Salsa Spearfish 2 mtb, to a lucky winner!  You don’t have to win the race to win at the Five-0, as over $25,000 in cash and prizes was given away at the event, which made many a racer walk away with a smile on their face.  Also, a big thanks goes out to Barbacoas, Bay Leaf Café, and Crow Peak Brewing, for serving up some great grub and drink, post race.

Be looking forward to registration opening up on April 1st, 2012 “No Fooling”.  We will again be capping the race at 600 riders, and will start a waiting list immediately upon reaching 600 riders.  Keep in mind there are NO REFUNDS, but we will allow registration transfers (w/ a $20 processing fee), up until August 15th, 2012.
