RACE RIDE TOUR
September 5, 2021
In its 20th year, the Dakota Five-O was not able to go off as we had envisioned. We were planning to have a big celebration of our 20th annual event, but due to Covid 19 we were unable to move forward as planned and made the very difficult decision of changing the event to a virtual ride.
Riders were able to ride a 50 mile course of their choice, anytime in the month of September, for our virtual event. A few riders traveled to Spearfish to ride the actual course which we were allowed to mark throughout the month for riders. All finishers of the event were mailed their swag bags, a T-shirt and had their names entered into our prize raffle.
This year their were no winners, but we did have a few strava climbs where the competitive folks could fight for the fastest time. Thanks to all of our sponsors who continued in their support of our event. Sram/Quarq threw down some top notch prizes, which included two Power Meters, several Tyre Wiz and Shock Wiz, Twin Six for the variety of jerseys and T's, an assortment of Teravail Tires, a wheelset from Velocity USA, a bike rack from 1Up USA, Dirt Bags bikepacking bags, a wheelset from Kandy Bikes, Black Hills Optical sunglasses, Bad Idea Event Five-O hats, and local art by Jenny Braig. There were also many great givaways from our local sponsors, Strider Bikes, Two Wheeler Dealer, Acme Bicycles, and Rushmore Mountain Sports. A big thanks goes out to Crow Peak Brewing, for hosting an 'unofficial' after party at their brewery. And finally, a huge shout out goes to Les Heiserman for designing another amazing, Five-O logo for this year's, Five-0 T-shirt!
Here's to 20 years of the Dakota Five-O!
